Date: November 8, 2025 Modality: In-Person at Dearcroft Montessori Trafalgar Crossing Campus (297 Oak Walk Dr, Oakville, ON L6H 3R6) Time: 8:30 am - 12:30 pm Inversion: $150 CAD Hours: 4 hours Audience: Elementary Montessori Teachers Geography serves as the foundation of Dr. Montessori’s cultural curriculum, connecting children with the natural world, the evolution of life, and the unfolding of human culture. “Let us give the child a vision of the whole universe… for all things are part of the universe, and are connected with each other to form one whole unity.” (To Educate the Human Potential, p. 5). In this session we will explore geography as a living subject that awakens wonder in the elementary child. Together, we will: - Revisit the Great Lessons, which spark imagination and open pathways for cosmic exploration. - Engage with the geography experiments that reveal the forces shaping our planet—air, water, land, and sun—helping children see the Earth as a dynamic, living system. - Examine ways geography links with biology, history, and culture, giving context and meaning to the child’s discoveries. - Explore strategies for integrating geography into the environment through meaningful projects, collaboration, and research. Through hands-on experiences and discussion, you will gain fresh ideas to see geography as a framework for understanding life, land, and culture. Children are invited to see the Earth more than a planet to be studied—as a home to be cared for—igniting inquiry, responsibility, and a profound sense of connection. Please note: A minimum of 5 participants is required for this course to run. In the event the course does not meet the minimum enrolment, all registered participants will receive a full refund of their registration fee.
