Date: August 11 - 15, 2025 Modality: In-Person Location: Dearcroft Montessori Trafalgar Crossing Campus (297 Oak Walk Dr, Oakville, ON L6H 3R6) Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (1-hr break between 12:00-1:00) Inversion: $600 CAD Hours: 30 hours Audience: Ideal for educators with a Montessori Elementary diploma (6–9) or at least 3 years of experience in a Lower Elementary classroom This 5-day, in-person refresher invites guides to reconnect with the beauty and complexity of the second plane of development. Through a combination of theory, discussion, and hands-on materials, participants will revisit the spiritual and academic foundations of the Lower Elementary years. 🗓 Proposed Course Outline Day 1 – Understanding the Second Plane Child • Key characteristics of the 6–9 child • Moral development, imagination, reasoning mind • The adult’s role and preparation of the spirit Day 2 – Cosmic Education: The Guiding Framework • The Great Lessons as an anchor • Fostering interdependence and gratitude • Cosmic tasks and storytelling Day 3 – Language, Literacy & Mathematics • Revisiting key materials, extensions, and follow-up work • The spiral curriculum and integrated learning • Strategies for fostering deep thinking and love of learning Day 4 – Cultural Areas: Geography, History, Biology & Sciences • Creating awe and wonder through exploration • Planning interconnected lessons across the disciplines • Supporting inquiry, experimentation, and curiosity Day 5 – Music, Movement & Creative Arts • Integrating the arts into daily learning • The role of expression, collaboration, and reflection • Building a harmonious classroom culture rooted in cosmic principles. *Content of the course may vary based on participants' interests.
